Soemon-cho, located on the north side of Dotonbori and east of Shinsaibashisuji Street, is an entertainment district with a 400-year history.
The town is still calm during the daytime, but at night the neon lights begin to shine brightly, making it the largest entertainment district in Minami and the largest in Osaka.
The name comes from Soemon Yamaguchiya, who contributed to the opening of Dotonbori.
