Ishikiri Tsurugi Shrine is called “the god of boils” or “Ishikiri-san”. Ishikiri-tsurugi means a sharp sword or arrow that cuts through stone, and the local people have a strong faith in the shrine as a god who heals pimples and other boils (dengbo).
The shopping street along the approach to the shrine is called “Daradarazaka,” and is lined with good old shops that still retain the atmosphere of the old days.
